My name is Wendy Hutt, and I have been a registered childminder for over 20 years. I also have three adult aged children, so I have a whole wealth of experience as a parent too. I live with my partner in a ground floor maisonette in Queens Park.

My home is 5 minutes from Queens Park tube station and bus stop no's:- 6, 36, 187, 206 and 316 are all at the top of my road. I have recently completed an Open University Degree in Early Years. I also have NVQ level II & III in Childcare and Education, and a Certificate in Early Years Practice. My First Aid and Safeguarding training is updated every three years.

My philosophy for working with children is to establish a trusting and positive relationship with the parents and child, providing a continuity of care between home and my setting. I provide care, consistency, stimulation and attention which enhance a child's sense of belonging and self-esteem. I am after all looking after your most treasured possession in the whole wide world!

My day to day routine: - 8.00 - 9.00 arrival with free play and breakfast if required. 9.15 - 12.00 visit to local drop in. 12.00 - 1.00 Lunch time; 1.30 – 3.00 Sleep time; 3.30 - 4.30 Play time 5.00- 5.45 Tea time 5.45 - 6.00 Tidy up and Home time Although this can change according to the weather, in which case we will be in a local park; if your child is not feeling too well, and also the age of your child and their sleep patterns.

The drop-ins we attend are Urban Kids on Tuesdays, Queens park community Hall on Wednesdays and All Nations on a Thursday. On a Monday we run a Forest style session in Queens Park Gardens on Ilbert Street. During our settling in period I will often ask parents to come along to a drop-in to see what we do, meet the other children your child will socialise with and I will introduce you to the other childminders, some of who will be my back up minders in case of emergencies. Our drop-ins are run by local childminders for carers and parents. It gives your child an opportunity to socialise with other children and they build valuable relationships and have access to equipment and activities that I may not have within my setting.
